Mohyun Apartment complex bore a scar of the explosive accident at the Iri station 36 years ago.

People started to reside in the complex on July 8th, 1978 and since then it provided homes to many low income families.

It was taken apart starting in 2010 and rebuilt to a brand new apartment complex.

MinSeok Kim who specializes in wedding and baby photographs noticed the change in the area and wanted to capture this historic moment.

He started to take pictures of the changing scenery.

Even though it sometimes rained and was overcast, he regularly took pictures every 7 to 15 days.

HIs project stretched over a period of 2 years and 7 months, from March 2010 until October last year.

About 300 pictures that show significant change of the scenery were chosen to be introduced to Iksan Newspaper.

Kim says, "I thought it might be a significant moment in local history, and I would like to continue taking pictures of the Iksan area.”

Kim earned his certificate from Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and is currently a member of the Photography and Culture Association in Korea.

He is also a volunteer photographer whenever he is needed.
