18 year-old Muay Thai Korean League Champion Min Ji Kim
- Won the 2013 29th National Kickboxing Muay Thai Golden Glove Female Championship
- 11 wins (4 knockouts) and 4 loses out of 15 matches… won 4 championships
- Wants to focus on training and wants to major in Muay Thai in Yonging Univ.

A female champion from Iksan has won The 2013 29th National Kickboxing Muay Thai Golden Glove which took place on December 8th.
The champion is Min Ji Kim who is only 18 and the first Honam Champion (Iksan high school / Xgym Muay Thai Fitness. November 4th 2013 Iksanpress).
Kim did not expect to win the championship because she couldn’t train due to a shin injury that she got in the earlier tag match held in Ansan.
Kim says, “I was worried because of my injury and was very nervous. Especially, my opponent Seungeun Lee has more match experience and she has learned Muay Thai in Thailand so I wanted to find out how strong she is. I saw a lot of video clips to familiarize her style and trained really hard.”
So far, she has 11 wins and 4 loses out of 15 matches and has won 4 championships. We asked what her plan is for the future.
“I think I will have a lot of title defense matches. Nothing is scheduled though. I am going to focus on training so I can keep my title.”
Yongin University is the only school that has a Muay Thai major. Kim wants to go to Yongin University so she can study Muay Thai. She is 18 years old with big dreams.
