A Key to the Successful Event: Active Participation

It is a great opportunity for Iksan to let the world know about its historical legacies, natural beauty, and cultural atmosphere to people who are from other regions of the country. Along with the Sports Festival, there will be Iksan’s famous the Chrysanthemum festival, which surely add more festivity to the event.
There are more things that Iksan is proud of. There are Miruk Stone Pagoda which will soon be designated as the world cultural heritage site, other cultural sites from the Baekjae Period, Religious sanctuaries for all 4 main religions which are One Buddhism, Catholic, and Christianity are here in Iksan. Wongpo Gomgae naru which is famous for the setting sun and Kumgang with a huge flock of birds are two main attractions of Iksan.
The natural beauty is not all that Iksan can offer. There will be a band new art center with 1,200 seats next year and the Korean Traditional Music and Training center will offer cultural environment as well. Iksan is planning to revive Chungahng Dong and create a cultural core which can offer events such as art market, street performance, and chicken and beer party.
# National Harmony and Unity
The Sports festival is not just a single sporting event. It is a lot more than that. It is a place where national harmony and unity are promoted. In the past, Korea greatly raised a level of cultural awareness, and boosted the economy through the event. It is expected that this will be a great opportunity for Iksan to earn some national recognition as a cultural center. The communities should work together to move forward for the successful event. Iksan will do its best to promote its motto “Clean, Kind and Orderly Iksan” with the help of its citizens and local communities. If the event is successful, it will benefit everyone in the community.
By 2018, the big project such as food cluster will be done and all the sports facilities will also be done. If everything goes as planned, Iksan will hold a successful event and will be able to let itself known as the best city to live to the national audience.
We hope that this event will be a chance for Iksan to leap forward to the better future.
