 |  | | | ¡è¡è ¾ç¼±ÀÌ ¹öŬ¸®¿µ¾îÇпøÀå | | ¨Ï ÀÍ»ê½Å¹® | On Wednesday Wonkwang University set up the mourning altar on its campus for the victims of the ferry that sank off Korea¡¯s south western coast on April 16.
Two of Wonkwang University graduates, ChangSeok Koh (93¡¯ Phys Edu), and HaeBong Lee (01¡¯ History Edu), are among the missing.
They are known to have shared the same floor with the students.
They initially came out of the sinking ship but went back inside to save their students who were still trapped in the rooms and never made out.
Wonkwang Student Coucil set up the memorial altar to share their sorrow.
In addition to setting up the memorial altar, the school decided to call off a number of school festival including Dae Dong Jae.
¡°We should have saved the children. This is so heartbreaking,¡± said a member of the student council.
¡°So we decided to install the mourning altar and fundraise for the victims¡¯ family,¡± she added.
Wonkwang Hospital staff also took a part in grieving for this national tragedy.
They hung up a banner saying, ¡°May all the victims rest in peace and we hope survivors safe return.¡±
The hospital¡¯s labor union decided to pin a yellow ribbon on their chest which express hopes for finding survivors.
The Union said, ¡°this is all we can do for the ferry disaster for now but we want to help out the victims¡¯ families. We¡¯re raising money so we can actually help out the families. We haven¡¯t decided what we¡¯re going to do to raise fund but we¡¯re discussing it right now.¡±
