People think of education as the young engage in, but education is right at any age.
Iksan city plans to create an educational program for life-long learning that can benefit everyone in the city.
The city will provide 300 online courses in 10 fields of study including foreign language, earning professional licenses, IT, and recreational activities. The program will be posted on the Iksan Edu Center website (lll.iksan.go.kr).
The Iksan life-long education program will be held at Somri Art Center every second and fourth week of Wednesday at 2 o'clock.
The program is created to meet the intellectual needs of the Iksan citizens.
In order not to leave out the outskirt area of Hamyeol, Nangsan, Yeosan, and Yongdong, the city is also planning to run a mobile learning center. It is mainly for adults who did not have an access to higher learning.
From June to October, Iksan city will send lecturers to liberal arts study groups that have more than 10 members.
During the summer, it is hoping to hold Iksan life-long education fair in order to create a learning environment for everybody.
Wonkwang University will take part in this education program since they already have programs for parents who reside in the Iksan area.
ChangSook Yu said, "we are going to make an effort to create a learning community that can share our knowledge, learn, and communicate for everyone."
