SungJoo Sim the principal and MiOk Jeon the choir teacher told their students amazing success story to Iksan press on the 10^th.

They won the first prize with their song ‘Passion’ in the event that 10 teams from preschools and elementary schools participated.

They are going to take part in the national singing competition as a Jeonbuk representative in October.

It is amazing that students practiced during their lunch. They practiced their singing and dancing and talked about what they needed to do more.

The choir members became best friends and they are practicing hard to be the best in the October event.

MiOk Joen the choir teacher organized the Mohyun elementary school’s choir four years ago, and there are currently 65 members in the choir. The event only allows 40 members on the stage so they had to have an audition.

We met with YeonSeo Kim, AhIn Ki, HaNi Yang, and EunSoo Min.  

They have been performing numerously and they practiced for 2 months for this event.

“We had to find the right song to sing since it was held by the fire department. It was really fun to work with other students and to dance. It was hard work, of course,” said one of the girls.

The hardest thing was the weather.

It was too hot to practice, but “we did not any problem with each other because we wanted to be in the competition,” said the girls.

They said they were not nervous because there was a strong bond among the members and it was no surprise that they won the first prize.

“If I had been alone singing, I wouldn’t have done it so well, but I was not scared or nervous at all because I was with all my friends who practiced so hard with me. We really had a great time in the event,” said YeonSeo and AhIn.

We wanted to know what changed after they joined the choir.

The girls thought for a moment and expressed their opinions.

YeonSeo Kim said, “We have to be on time because there are a lot of members so I learned to keep time and be on time. I became very punctual thanks to the choir.” AhIn Kim said, “I learned to cooperate with others. I found it very exciting to be on stage.”

HaNi Yang said, “I think I enjoy school more. After I sing songs and dance, I don’t get stressed out as much.” EunJoo Min said, “We are going to do our best to be prepared for the national singing competition. We are going to win the first prize and I would like to thank our choir teacher.”

They are planning to practice harder because there will be good teams from all over the country.

It is hard to be on stage without passion and talent.

It is especially hard for elementary school students to sing in front of many people.
